My name is Andrea Petzold. I am certified Hiking Guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides. I have plenty of knowledge about our geology, natural history, and wildflowers and promise to give you more than just a hike. I am also certified for winter travel which include snowshoe trips.

Over the last 25 years, I have visited the summits of over 20 peaks over 11,000 feet in the Canadian Rockies. More notably, I was part of a successful women’s expedition to Canada’s highest peak, Mount Logan. Additionally, I have visited several high altitude peaks in Ecuador, Argentina and Peru. These days, I continue to enjoy the mountains through a few annual back country ski trips and many hiking adventures.

I have a bachelor’s of science degree in geology and I enjoyed a 30 year career working as a contract geologist in Calgary, Alberta where I belonged to the Professional Association for Engineer and Geologists. In 2010, I was the Recipient of The Don Forest Service Award for volunteer service to The Alpine Club of Canada. This award recognizes those who have made significant contributions in furthering the aims and goals of The Alpine Club of Canada.

After spending 25 years in the Bow Valley, my husband, David Grant and I moved to Invermere, British Columbia. We enjoy the warm lake water and the Columbia Valley mountain environment.
